Wormy Apples

Apples are covered with a mixture of Nutella spread and marshmallow topping, rolled in green sprinkles, and have Gummy Worms inserted.
 

Ingredients

  • 1, 13-oz. jar Nutella (chocolate-hazelnut spread)
  • 1 (or 2) Tbsp marshmallow ice cream topping
  • 2 small granny smith apples (refrigerated, washed and dried)
  • 2 popsicle sticks
  • 12-14 gummy worms
  • 1 cup green cake sprinkles

Method

Combine Nutella and 1 Tb. marshmallow cream and mix well. If dough is too sticky add 1 more Tb. marshmallow cream. (Consistancy should be like Play Dough.) Knead dough, then divide into half. Flatten one piece of dough with your hands to about the size of your palm. Place one apple in the middle and massage dough until whole apple is covered and smooth. Using a small utensil make a small opening and insert one gummy worm, tail end first. Make sure to leave the head out, then smooth dough around worm. Continue until 6-7 worms have been place around the outside of the apple. Now roll apple in green sprinkles and pat down. (Sprinkles will not stick to worms.) Finish the other apple the same way. Place a Popsicle stick in the stem end of each apple.

 

Notes: This is a great Halloween recipe. Gross! Isn't that great?!?
