Very Berry Strawberry Chocolate Parfaits

This dessert makes a beautiful presentation and takes very little time and effort to prepare. The orange liqueur really adds a great flavor.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, divided
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp orange liqueur, optional
  • 1 pint chocolate or vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped with 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp vanilla or you may use canned whipped cream

Method

Combine 1 cup berries, sugar and orange liqueur in a food processor or blender and puree. Strain if desired. Slice remaining strawberries, reserving 4 whole as garnish. Place a layer of ice cream in each of 4 parfait glasses. Top with a 1/4 of sauce in each glass. Add another layer of ice cream then top with sliced strawberries divided evenly. Cover and freeze this dessert until ready to serve. Top with the whipped cream and garnish each with 1 whole strawberry before serving.
