Spicy Pecan Fudge Pie


This fudge pie contains brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, chocolate chips, plus ground red pepper.



Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Dash of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1, 9-inch unbaked pastry shell
  • 2 cups sweetened whipped cream

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, beat together eggs and brown sugar until creamy. Stir in flour, salt, cayenne, cinnamon, butter, pecans, chocolate chips and vanilla. Pour into pastry shell. Place on baking sheet. Bake 60-65 minutes, or until center is just set. Cool to room temperature before serving with whipped cream.

Notes: Yummy!! The cayenne adds a subtle something in the background that sets this pie apart from any other.
