Sour Cream Cookies

These sour cream cookies can be cut into shapes just like the regular holiday sugar cookies and provide a nice difference in flavor.
Ingredients
- l cup sugar
- l/2 cup butter
- l/2 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- l teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 l/2 cups flour
- l/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons soda

Method
Cream shortening. Add salt and sugar and blend thoroughly. Add beaten egg and beat well. Mix lemon juice with sour cream. Mix soda and cream of tartar with flour. Add liquid and dry ingredients alternately to egg mixture. Mix thoroughly. Chill. Toss onto floured molding board. Roll thin as possible. Cut into fancy shapes. Bake on a greased baking sheet ten minutes in a moderately hot 375 F oven.
