Queen of Pumpkin Pie

Treat your family with this special 2-layer pie--cheesecake on the bottom and pumpkin on top.
Ingredients
- Part 1:
- 1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 9 inch unbaked pie shell
- Part 2:
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- Dash salt
- 1 1/2 cups canned pumpkin
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten

Method
Combine part 1 ingredients, except egg, and mix well. Add egg and mix well, then spread in pie shell. Combine part 2 ingredients and mix well. Carefully pour over creamed cheese mixture. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Let pie cool and set up prior to serving.
Notes: I only make this once a year and it is a special request
