
This creamy pumpkin pie is the perfect dessert for your holiday gatherings.
Slowly heat pumpkin and butter together until butter is melted.
Mix sugar, flour and spices together and add to pumpkin mixture.
Beat egg yolks well, mix in milk and
add to pumpkin mixture.
Beat egg whites until slightly stiff and fold into pumpkin mixture.
Pour into pie crusts and bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes or until firm.
Notes:
It is a tradition in my family to buy a pumpkin, carve it for Halloween and then cook it for the pies, however canned pumpkin will work just as well. This pie freezes very well.
