Pecan Tassies

Pecan-filled miniature tarts that are a holiday tradition.
Ingredients
- TART SHELL
- 3\4 C. (1-1\2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1 pkg (3oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1-1\2 C. all purpose flour
- 1\4 C. sugar
- FILLING
- 2 T. butter or margarine, melted
- 3\4 C. packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1-1\2 cups chopped pecans

Tart Shell: Beat butter and cream cheese in medium bowl; add flour and sugar, beating until well blended. Cover; refrigerate about one hour or until dough is firm. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; press each ball of dough into cups of ungreased Mini-muffin pan. (I use a tart shaper dipped in flour) Press dough to form tart shell. Filling: Combine all ingredients in bowl, mix well. Fill tart shells evenly will filling mixture. Bake 20-25 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from Mini Muffin pan to cooling rack. Cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
