Pears with Raspberry Sauce

Fresh pears, peeled & quartered, are drizzled with a cooked, sieved raspberry sauce and garnished with fresh berries.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 pint raspberries, reserve 18 raspberries
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar or maple sugar
  • 6 pears

Method

Combine raspberries, water and sugar in small saucepan. Heat to a gentle boil. Remove from heat. Allow to cool 10 minutes. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve and press through with a small wooden spoon to remove seeds. Peel and quarter pears, arrange on plates. Spoon raspberry sauce over pears. Garnish each plate with reserved raspberries.

 

Notes: Equivalent amount of artificial sweetener can be used, if desired. Very low calorie and no fat, a decadent dessert!
