Making your own preserves at home never looked so easy. What a great treat or gift to give to family and friends.

  • Servings: 6 half pints

6 cups Peeled, cored, sliced apples
1 cup Water
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 pkg Powdered Pectin
½ cup Thinly Sliced Lemon
4 cups Sugar
2 tsp Nutmeg

Combine apples, water and lemon juice in large pan. Simmer, covered for 10 minutes. Stir in pectin and bring to rolling boil, stirring often. Add lemon slices and sugar. Return to a rolling boil. Boil hard for 1 minute, stirring often. Remove from heat and add nutmeg. Pour hot into hot jars leaving 1/4 inch head space. Adjust caps. Process 10 minutes in boiling water bath.
