My Pralines

This traditional candy recipe is given in a very simple procedure and gives a great product every time.
Ingredients
- 1 stick of butter
- 1/4 cup of water
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 box of light brown sugar
- 5x8 pan lightly buttered
- 2 qt saucepan
- 1 cup of chopped pecans

Method
Heat water and butter to melt in 2 quart saucepan over medium heat stirring to keep from burning. Add the box of brown sugar and stir. Bring to hard boil stirring constantly to keep from burning. Hard boil for about 5 minutes. Test by dropping a small drop in a glass of cold tap water and if it stiffens immediately (almost like caramel) it is ready. Immediately pour in vanilla and pecans stirring constantly. Pour in pan and let set till cool. Cut into squares. Serve.
