Mexican Style Fried Cookie Dough

Crispy fired cookies served with ice cream and rich ice cream topping.
 

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup corn flakes (or other cereal), crushed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 package (18 ounce) cookie dough (flavor of your choice)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup sauce of your choice (chocolate, caramel, dulce de leche, honey)

Method

In a mixing bowl, combine corn flakes, cinnamon, sugar and mix well. Form cookie dough into 3/4 inch wide balls. Roll balls of cookie dough in corn flake mixture until fully covered. Heat oil in skillet or electric fryer until it reaches 375 degrees F. Drop balls of cookie dough into oil until coating is golden, about 30 seconds. Drain on paper towels. Spread fried cookie dough balls across 4 bowls. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of each bowl. Drizzle with sauce of your choice (chocolate, caramel, dulce de leche, honey).
