A cake mix is combined with pumpkin, cinnamon, sour cream & chocolate chips, layered with brown sugar-cinnamon, and drizzled with chocolate.
Pre-heat oven to 350 Degrees. In a large mixer bowl, combine dry cake mix, eggs, butter or margarine, sour cream, pumpkin, vanilla and cinnamon. Beat on low speed 1 minute then 2 minutes on medium speed. Stir in the chocolate chips, if using.
Spray cooking spray onto bottom of a 13x9-inch baking pan or glass baking dish. Then add 1/2 the batter. In a separate small bowl, mix 1/2 cup brown sugar & 1 teaspoon cinnamon together; sprinkle over your layer of batter. Then add remaining batter. Bake at 350 degrees about 35-40 minutes or until tests done. Remove from oven & let cool until slightly warm before serving.
Meanwhile, for a chocolate glaze, microwave your 6 oz. of chocolate chips, stirring once or twice, until softened and smooth (watch closely.) Add to powdered sugar, vanilla, & a few tablespoons of evaporated or regular milk or juice, mixing to make a thin glaze; pour over cake slowly in thin lines to decorate. If you want a vanilla glaze, omit chocolate chips, and add a little more powdered sugar & vanilla flavoring.
Notes:
Serve slightly warm, or cold with ice cream, (golden vanilla, vanilla, triple vanilla, chocolate, or pumpkin flavored ice cream) or with whipped Cream. Perfect dessert served warm for these winter days. Try It! You'll feel the Passion!!
