Gingerbread

This gingerbread cake recipe contains molasses, ginger, cinnamon, soda, shortening and egg.
Ingredients
- 2 1/3 cups flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup molasses
- 3/4 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 egg

Method
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x9x2-inch pan. In large bowl stir together dry ingredients; add remaining ingredients and beat on low speed for 3 minutes, scrapping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan. Bake about 50 minutes or until done.
Notes: This is a good gingerbread.
