This dessert is traditionally served during the holiday of Purim--miniature pastries with apricot, raspberry, cherry or prune filling.
In a mixing bowl beat together sugar, and butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs, milk, vanilla and beat well. Combine flour and baking powder. Stir into creamed mixture. If dough feels sticky, cover and refrigerate one hour. On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with floured 3 inch round cookie cutter. Top each round with 1/2 teaspoon fruit filling. Shape into triangles by lifting up edges and pinching dough together to make 3 corners. Leave center open. Fold back edges slightly to expose fillings. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, in a 350 degree oven, for 16-18 minutes.
