The flavors of turtle candy without all the work. A caramelized sugar syrup is poured over toasted pecans, topped with chocolate, then broken in chunks.
Toast pecans lightly on foil-lined jelly roll pan; set aside in the foil pan on a heat-proof surface. Melt butter in large heavy saucepan then add sugar, salt and marshmallows. Cook on medium-high heat until mixture turns a rich caramel color, stirring occasionally with wooden spoon. Then pour over pecans. Wait about 15 seconds or so then evenly spread chocolate chips on top of caramel. Wait another 15-30 seconds, then spread chocolate evenly. Cool candy completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes:
Be careful when cooking sugar; it gets very hot.
