Creamy Pear Pie
Sliced fresh pears are combined with sour cream and three extracts--vanilla, lemon and almond--then topped with a crumbly brown sugar and butter mixture before baking.
Ingredients
- Filling:
- 4 cups sliced, peeled pears
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp. EACH vanilla, lemon and almond extracts
- 1 (9-in.) unbaked pie crust
- Topping:
- 1/4 c. flour
- 2 tbsp. packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. butter, softened

Method
In medium bowl, toss sliced pears with sugar and flour. In a small bowl, combine sour cream and extracts. Add to pear mixture and mix well. Pour into pie shell. In a small bowl, combine topping ingredients and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle over pear filling in pie shell. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce oven to 350 degrees and continue to bake for additional 45 minutes or until pears are tender.
