With a little help on the stove, this dessert can be very kid friendly. Make dinner and dessert a whole family affair tonight.
Combine milk and sugar in pan, stir over heat until sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and boil as fast as possible without boiling over for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add marshmallows and coffee powder. Stir until marshmallows are melted. Add vanilla, almond extract and Kahlua. Refrigerate for about 45 minutes and add almonds.
Place ice cream in a large bowl and stir until just softened. Quickly fold in coffee mixture to give a marbled effect. Spread mixture over baked cookie crumb crust and place in freezer for about 30 minutes. Top with whipped topping when ready to serve.
