Cinnamon Spiced Candied Pecans

Pecan halves are coated with beaten egg white, then with a mixture of brown sugar, granulated sugar and cinnamon before baking.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 4 cups of pecans halves

Method

Pre-heat oven to 250 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Spray the waxed paper with cooking spray. In a medium bowl, whip together the egg white, water and vanilla until frothy (approx. 2 minutes.) Set aside. In a gallon-size plastic zipper bag place both sugars, cinnamon and salt. Knead or stir in bag until well combined. Set aside. Add pecans to egg whites and stir to coat the pecans. Remove the pecans and place them in the plastic zipper bag. Knead bag until the pecans are evenly coated with sugar mixture. Spread the nuts out on the prepared baking sheet. Bake at 250 degrees for 60 minutes. Stir pecans every 20 minutes while baking. Can serve warm or cold.
