Chocolate Cranberry Marshmallow Pie


A wonderful no-bake dessert for the holidays.



Ingredients:

  • 1 can jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 graham cracker pie crust
  • 12 oz. marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp. almond extract
  • 1 tsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 4-oz. bar chocolate, grated
  • 1 8-oz. container frozen whipped dessert topping, thawed

Method

Mash cranberry sauce; stir in 1 teaspoon sugar. Combine lemon juice and cornstarch; add to cranberry mixture. Spread in bottom of pie crust. Chill. In a saucepan melt marshmallows with milk. Stir in almond extract, cocoa powder, and grated chocolate. Chill until mixture begins to thicken; fold in dessert topping. Spread over cranberry mixture in pie crust. Chill at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes: This dessert offers a sweet tangy sensation followed by a smooth creamy chocalate texture.
