Ingredients

  • 2 14-oz packages vanilla caramels
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp of Chinese 5-spice powder
  • 5 large granny smith apples
  • 10 wooden sticks

Method

In a heavy saucepot combine caramels, water and 5-Spice powder together over medium-low heat, stirring often, until completely melted. Lower heat to low. Wash and dry apples and insert a wooden stick into stem end of each apple. Dip apples, one-by-one, into the melted 5-Spice Caramel mixture. Turn apple to coat, allowing excess to drip off. Place on waxed paper until set.

Notes: Here's a caramel apple with a jazz! You'll be amazed at the biting, interesting combination.
