Caramel Apples Pie

Think an apple pie is too much trouble to make? Try this fast and easy version. Baked apples with a gooey caramel filling and a crumb topping.
Ingredients
- 1 (21 oz)can Musselman's apple pie filling (less spice content than other brands)
- 2 oz caramel or butterscotch baking chips
- 6 oz yellow cake mix (about half box)
- 1/2 cup margarine (melted)
- 1 prepared pie crust

Spread pie filling evenly over pie crust. Sprinkle chips on top of apples. Cover the pie with a layer of dry cake mix. Drizzle with melted margarine and place in a 375 degrees F preheated oven and bake approx 30 minutes or until the top is moist and lightly browned.
Notes: Cake mix that's been on the shelf for a while does not work well.
