Candied Rutabaga

This intersting twist on candied vegetables can be served as a dessert or along side your main dish.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 large rutabaga
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup crushed pecans

Method

Peel rutabaga cut in julienne slices and boil and drain. Add brown sugar, butter, salt, pepper, dried cranberries, and crushed pecans. Saute until sugar starts to caramelize.
