Packaged crescent roll dough makes it a snap to create a light and fluffy crust for this fresh fruit pie.

  • Servings: About 8

1 stick Butter
½ cup Granulated Sugar
1 tsp Flour
2 cups Blackberries
¼ cup Apple Sauce
¼ cup Cranberry Juice
1 tsp Lemon Juice
1× 8 oz Container Crescent Roll Dough

In a large sauce pan or skillet melt butter on medium high heat. Add sugar and then flour to butter leaving it on medium high heat. Stir constantly while adding ingredients. Once those ingredients are mixed together add blackberries. Let it cook while stirring for a couple of minutes then add applesauce, cranberry juice, and lemon juice. Lower heat a bit and let simmer for five to ten minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit at room temperature for at least 45 minutes. Roll out crescent roll dough for the crust and place crust in pan reserving enough to make a top crust (about 1/4 of dough). Put blackberry mixture into pie. Roll out the rest of dough into a rectangle shape. Cut strips about 1/2 inch wide and long enough to go all the way across pie. Place strips across pie in a creative design to create a top crust.
