Banana Split Cake

This chilled dessert has a baked crust made with self-rising flour, brown sugar and nuts. The filling has cream cheese, powdered sugar and egg. Add sliced bananas, crushed pineapple, and whipped topping. Garnish with maraschino cherries. Because of the raw egg in the filling, be sure to use safety precautions and keep the dessert well-chilled.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 8-oz. package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pound pkg. confectioners sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Bananas
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 8-oz. container Cool Whip
  • Maraschino cherries

Method

Mix together first 4 ingredients and press into 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool. Beat together next 4 ingredients well. Spoon into cooled shell. Top with bananas sliced lengthwise, drained pineapple, and spread Cool Whip over all. Garnish with cherries. Chill.
