This classic apple pie will remind everyone of Grandma's house, so be prepared to serve everyone second slices.
Pie crust:
Cut butter into flour and salt. Add water a tablespoon at a time, and toss together until dough forms a ball. Chill 1/2 hour, and roll out.
Pie Filling:
Prepare apples. Place in a large bowl and toss with 1/2 cup sugar and 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Let stand and prepare the crumb topping.
Topping:
With a pastry blender, cut butter into flour until it's crumbly. Add sugar and toss together. Pour apples into prepared crust and top with crumb topping. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes. Cool before cutting.
