Apple Dapple Bread Pudding


This bread pudding is full of apple and cinnamon. Serve warm with whipped topping or ice cream.



Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter, melted
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 cups dry bread cubes
  • 1 cooking apple, peeled and cut into bite size pieces

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 2-quart glass casserole dish. In a large bowl combine milk and butter. Add sugar, eggs, salt, cinnamon and vanilla and stir well with wire whisk. Add bread cubes and apples; stir until moisture is absorbed. Pour all into buttered casserole dish. Set casserole in pan of warm water and set all in oven to bake. Bake 45 minutes.

Notes: Serve warm in small sauce dish with dollop of whipped topping or ice cream. Drizzle caramel ice cream topping over all for garnish.
