Apple Crisp

A traditional dessert with apples in syrup with a crunchy cinnamony topping that is served warm with ice cream; or in this case, frozen yogurt.
 

Ingredients

  • 6-7 apples, About 3 1/2 lbs. thinly sliced.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbs. lemon juice
  • 4 tsp ground cinnamon divided
  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup light evaporated skim milk
  • 1/4 cup fat-free dry milk
  • Vanilla frozen yogurt, (optional)

Method

Preheat oven to 350 F. Coat 6 cup casserole dish with non stick cooking spray. In bowl combine apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Spoon into prepared dish. Combine remaining ingredients; spoon mixture on top of apples. Bake 45 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon. Serve warm with frozen yogurt, if desired.
