Apple and Pear Cobbler

Your home will smell heavenly when you bake this fresh fruit pie, seasoned with nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 deep dish single pie crust, uncooked
  • 3 cups thinly sliced mixed apples
  • 4 cups thinly sliced mixed pears
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 3 quart baking dish. In a large bowl mix apples, pears, sugar, light brown sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg and cinnamon. Mix well and add melted butter, again mixing well. Pour filling into baking dish. Place second pie crust on top of filling and seal well. Sprinkle top with cinnamon and bake for 40 minutes or until fruit is tender. Sprinkle brown sugar on top. Cool and serve warm or cold.

 

Notes: Make sure you used different kinds of apples and pears in this recipes.
