This dessert can serve a big crowd--and the creamy almond flavored filling is sure to be a hit.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl blend together sugar, butter, 1 cup almonds and flour. Press into greased 9 X 13 pan and bake 20-30 minutes. Mixture should still be moist, do not over bake, and then cool completely. In large bowl mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar, almond extract and remaining almonds. Fold in whipped topping and mix well. Spread onto cooled crust and chill 3-4 hours or overnight.
