Serve this elegant dessert to your special guests. Pears and nuts fill tender puff pastry.
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. On large baking sheet, roll pastry to 12-in. square. Fold edges inward 1/2 in. to form double-thick border. Prick pastry bottom with fork; place in freezer.
2. In food processor, pulse nuts and sugar until nuts are finely chopped. Remove pastry from freezer; sprinkle with half the nut mixture (about 1/3 cup). Leave remaining nut mixture in processor.
3. Arrange pear slices in overlapping rows on pastry (don't cover edges). Add butter to remaining nuts in processor; pulse until butter is finely chopped. Sprinkle nut mixture over pears.
4. Bake 25-30 minutes, until edges are puffed and golden brown, and pears are tender. Cool slightly on rack. Serve warm.
